Alex Piletska advises on all aspects of all routes to settlement, such as British citizenship and naturalisation, family visas (partners, spouses, children, adult dependants); Ancestry; Long Residence and Human Rights. She has worked on immigration appeals at all levels. She is renowned for advise on tricky cases, challenging refusals and writing and training on new immigration legislation.
Business Immigration:
Alex Piletska advises employers, employees, entrepreneurs, founders and talent on all work routes to the UK. She advises on requirements for work visas and settlement for immigration routes such as the Skilled Worker visa, Global Talent visa, Scale-up visa, International Sportsperson visa, Health and Care Worker visa, Religious Worker visa and Graduate visa.
She also advises on temporary work visas such as the Creative Worker visa, Government Authorised Exchange visa, Charity Worker visa and International Agreement visa, as well as servicing legacy visas (such as those already on the Start-up or Investor visa) and working on routes to settlement.
Alex previously worked at Turpin Miller LLP from 2017 to 2025, where she qualified as a solicitor in August 2020. She simultaneously completed her LLM (LPC) with the University of Law, achieving a Distinction (80%). Alex was promoted to Joint Head of the Private Immigration team before leaving to join Vanessa Ganguin Immigration Law working across all UK immigration and nationality law matters in September 2025.
She contributes regularly to Free Movement, an online resource for immigration and asylum experts, as well as LexisNexis, where she serves on the panel of experts and the Q&A panel.
Alex is a co-founder of the award-winning Ukraine Advice Project UK, a non-profit initiative set up to link qualified lawyer volunteers to Ukrainians affected by the conflict seeking free legal immigration and asylum advice. To date, the pro bono project won multiple awards, signed up more than 600 lawyers and helped more than 4,000 families escaping the conflict.
