Alex is a partner in Reed Smith’s Transportation Group. His practice centres on a number of very high value/intensive shipbuilding, infrastructure and offshore disputes combined with advice and representation relating to a number of infrastructure projects and their continuation. He also specialises in representing shipbrokers and ship managers when issues arise.
Alex has acted on a number of leading cases and complex disputes, including the “LORY” (2019) EWHC 2804 on where negotiating damages will be awarded where the innocent party has suffered no loss and the “GRAND ACE 12” (2019) EWHC 928 on the requirements to establish an exclusive jurisdiction clause.
Alex ranked in Band 1 in Chambers & Partners Asia Pacific 2022 where a source describes him as “one of the leaders in the industry who is able to provide solutions to complex problems."
He has particular interests in Brazil, Korea, Europe and the Middle East. Alex is co-lead of Reed Smith’s Korean business team.
