A respected professional negligence lawyer, well known for his work in connection with legal and construction professionals, in particular, and held in high esteem by clients for his efficiency and technical awareness. In-depth experience of handling professional negligence claims on behalf of solicitors, accountants, company directors and officers, educational institutions, financial advisers, surveyors, planning consultants, architects, engineers and other such construction professionals. Has also represents numerous individuals and corporate clients in the pursuit of claims against professionals for negligence and breach of contract. Particular experience of acting for the Law Society of Scotland's professional indemnity insurers and of handling professional negligence claims for engineers and architects. Also advises in relation to professional disciplinary and regulatory matters concerning various professions. Regularly represents clients in mediations.

Recent experience of dealing with a number of very high value and high profile professional negligence cases and represented the defenders who ran the successful prescription argument in the recently reported case of Midlothian Council v David Anderson Keith and others [2019] CSOH 29.
