As K&P’s Managing Partner and Head of Infrastructure and Projects, Ala’ has managed a number of renewable energy, water, and sustainable infrastructure projects. In particular, he is renowned for his experience advising on and navigating all aspects of energy projects, having led on the development of many of the most significant energy and infrastructure deals in Jordan over the past five years, many having been PPP transactions. In addition to project finance, Ala’ also has involvement in the water sector, including with the corporatization of the Water Authority of Jordan’s activities in Amman and Aqaba, and with waste water treatment projects. He also acted as the issuer’s legal counsel on a number of sovereign bond issues, based on Reg. S and Rule 144/4, and has recognized experience as counsel and arbitrator in major construction and infrastructure disputes based on ICC, UNCITRAL and Jordanian Arbitration rules. Other areas include sports law, where he currently acts for the Jordan Olympic Committee and has successfully managed a number of international sporting disputes.
