The firm offers a full range of equity and debt capital markets services and the expertise of the capital markets team covers from simple (plain vanilla) offerings to sophisticated structured equity and debt products and regulatory advice. The real estate practice has been involved in many high profile real estate transactions — land, retail/ shopping centres, office and residential buildings, industrial/logistic parks, agricultural and animal farms — assisting developers, investors, financiers and other key stakeholders to structure, acquire, develop, finance and implement real estate projects and manage their investments. The typical work ranges from transactional matters (acquisitions, financings and construction arrangements) to due diligence exercises and legal memoranda.

Restructuring & Insolvency:
The restructuring and insolvency team knows the ins and outs of the formal insolvency proceedings, but can also help clients prior to the opening of a formal procedure with a view to optimising results by providing restructuring and reorganisation strategy advice, debt restructuring and enhancing security packages, advising on all formal insolvency procedures and office holders’ conduct and regulation, debt recovery options and strategy as well as representing before all entities involved in the insolvency proceedings.

State Aid & Competition:
The competition team at Volciuc-Ionescu has comprehensive experience in advising clients in the full spectrum of both EU and Romanian competition matters, with an established track record of dealing with merger control filings and investigations conducted by the Romanian Competition Council as well as of advising clients on a variety of issues which range from day to day business (distribution and other vertical arrangements) to complex business arrangements (cooperation and joint ventures agreements).
