Banking and Finance:

The firm’s expertise covers a broad range of transactions across the public and private sectors. As a leading adviser on conventional and Islamic finance, the firm acts for national and regional banks on a range of domestic and cross-border transactions. Trowers has been market leaders in Islamic finance for over thirty years and have been involved in, and continue to work on, ‘first in country’ and ground-breaking projects and transactions.

Real Estate:

As a market leading real estate law firm acknowledged for the breadth of their practice, the firm's work covers all forms of real estate across the private and public sectors and from residential to commercial and mixed-use schemes. The firm frequently advises on large, complex deals ranging from major commercial acquisitions to substantial regeneration initiatives, luxury leisure and retail premises and private and social housing, from investment and asset management to development, finance and construction. The firm's real estate experts advise on every stage of master planned developments, advising on the entire project cycle, from its structuring and community management framework through to the disposal of parcels and units to developers and end-users.

Construction:

The firm offers a full-service construction practice acting on a range of non-contentious matters and disputes spanning from standard form construction industry contracts (including FIDIC) and providing advice on the construction of public-private partnership (PPP) projects, bespoke construction contracts, consultants’ appointments, bonds, guarantees and development and project financing agreements. The firm's construction experts advise major high-profile clients, including employers, sponsors, and contractors, on a wide range of projects including leisure and tourism, museums and libraries, education and schools, energy and waste treatment infrastructure, digital transformation and building and regeneration projects. Theyprovide commercially minded legal advice to a diverserange of clients including private and public developers,governments, landowners, funders and investors,contractors and consultants on all aspects of construction law. In the GCC, they have considerable experience in advising clients on arbitrations and adjudications, while also coordinating local counsel for court related matters.

Projects, Energy and Infrastructure

The firm's lawyers advise on significant infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Asia, including the financing of power, water and civil infrastructure projects. The firm has worked on landmark PPP projects and has an intrinsic understanding of all aspects of building and regeneration projects, including leisure and tourism, museums and libraries, education and schools and digital transformation. They have worked on some of the most significant transport initiatives, often working with central governments and local authorities creating transport and infrastructure networks and managing their transition to private businesses.

The energy team advises on everything from nuclear projects and large-scale thermal power projects to district heat and cooling networks, renewables, energy efficiency and utility connections, often on a pioneering, first-in-country basis. They understand all aspects of energy projects – from initial strategy and risks management to procurement and tendering, management of funder requirements and the construction and operational phases. This, coupled with an extensive experience advising on the full range of enabling documents (including consortium arrangements, shareholder agreements, project agreements, concessions, financing documents and EPC and O&M contracts) gives clients a clear commercial advantage.

Corporate:

The corporate department is a substantial team with a strong reputation for advising public and private companies, entrepreneurs and individuals operating in the financial, property, industrial and commercial sectors.They provide a full range of corporate and commercial advice from complex, global, cross-border deals for multi-national corporations to sales and disposals of owner managed businesses for private individuals across the UK, Middle East and Asia.

Litigation

The litigation department helps clients to manage risk and to protect their business interest across commercial civil litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and adjudication. The firm has particular strengths in public law, judicial review, banking, real estate, construction, insolvency, employment, travel insurance and personal injury work.

Private Wealth:

The private wealth department provides legal advice to individuals with industrial or commercial wealth, invested assets and landed estates. Key areas of work include tax planning, trusts, wills, probate, charities, the administration of trusts and estates, as well as the management of substantial real estate portfolios.

India desk:

The India desk comprises a global team of multilingual Indian and Indian-origin specialists embedded in Trowers' offices across the UK, Middle East and Asia to strategically support the legal needs of Indian businesses, global corporations with a presence in India and private clients.

Korea desk:
