Firm Overview:
The firm was established in 2005 as a business law firm specialising in all aspects of business law, including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, banking, taxation and property development. Since establishment, the firm has expanded into being a full-service law firm with strong commercial litigation capabilities. Four of the firm’s partners are currently ranked by Chambers Global (Trevor Patterson, Star Individual - General Business Law, Arthur Hamilton - General Business Law, Lynda Mair - General Business Law and Andrea Kinach - General Business Law) but all of the firm’s partners are well-known by officials of key government agencies and executives of leading sector enterprises in Jamaica. The firm’s Senior Partner, Trevor Patterson, is recognised as one of the leading business lawyers in Jamaica.

Main Areas of Practice:
PMH provides a diverse range of commercial law services to local and international clients in relation to complex tax structures, international and local financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, structuring foreign direct investment, cross-border financing, IPOs on main and junior markets of the local stock exchange, large and small-scale residential and commercial property development and employment/labour law matters. The firm also undertakes commercial litigation matters requiring specialist skills.

International Work:
The firm is regularly involved in major cross-border transactions including foreign acquisitions, cross-border financing, foreign direct investment, international tax issues and provides support to Jamaican corporations with foreign interests. Partners work regularly with major firms in New York, London, Toronto and other major cities on various transactions including project finance, joint ventures, IPO’s and acquisitions.

The firm boasts among its local clients the local branch of one of the US largest banks, virtually all commercial banks, the leading building societies, the Jamaica Stock Exchange, an international brewing conglomerate with operations in Jamaica, significant real estate developers and the largest chain of Caribbean hotels.
