Firm Overview:
León Cosgrove is a boutique specializing in complex business litigation and comprised of former federal law clerks and top-tier trial lawyers from AmLaw 100 firms. Focused and trial-ready teams represent clients in highstakes matters across a wide range of practice areas, industries, and venues throughout the United States — often going up against, and defeating, established global legal brands. Recently the firm emerged from AAA arbitration with a $75 million award for defective wind turbine blades, and then secured the settlement of a related federal court action for damages under the Illinois consumer fraud law. The firm also obtained the early dismissal of a putative class action against a large public company for alleged violations of consumer protection law, and subsequently prevailed in the appeal of the dismissal. It also won a $93 million verdict for the State of Florida in a dispute that imperiled $30 million in perpetual annual revenues under its landmark 1997 tobacco settlement.
