Main Areas of Practice:  

Comprised of litigators who frequently handle appeals and writs in various appellate courts, with special expertise in handling intellectual property matters in the Federal Circuit. Recent appellate victories were also obtained in the Delaware Supreme Court, Federal Circuit, Second Circuit, Fourth Circuit, Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeals.

Bankruptcy, Reorganization & Creditors’ Rights:
Handles major corporate reorganizations and creditors’ rights matters and represents troubled companies in developing formal and informal workouts, exchange offers, and other transactions and strategies. Recent matters include the successful representation of Sports Authority in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Class Action Defense:
Recognized success in class and multi-jurisdiction cases in federal and state courts around the country. The firm’s attorneys have defended more than 100 class action cases in the last ten years. Recently secured a dismissal of a biometric privacy class action for a video game publisher, which was affirmed on appeal.

Recent victories include a win for Warner Bros. Entertainment in a royalty class action.

Entertainment & Media Transactions:
More than 70 years of experience representing entertainment and new media companies. Recognized as a 2017 ‘Media & Entertainment Group of the Year.’

Advises clients on debt finance transactions; intercreditor arrangements; LBOs; securitizations, tender and exchange offers; and asset-based lending, leasing, recapitalization, reorganization and restructuring transactions. Represented Rosa Foods (dba Soylent) in a $50M Series B financing from Silicon Valley players Google Ventures, Alphabet Inc. and Andreessen Horowitz, among others.

Global Investigations & Anti-Corruption:

Recent matters include securing a trial win for Public Storage in a complex merger litigation and representing the former Chairman and CEO of Countrywide in a series of shareholder and regulatory lawsuits arising from the mortgage crisis.
