Public Finance:

Ice Miller has served as bond counsel for over a century. Attorneys understand the complex issues that arise in dealing with government finance and work daily with government officials, elected bodies, other professionals serving government at every level and in every forum imaginable. The firm is consistently rated among the top law firms in the country and the Midwest in number of bond issues approved by a national publication, approving up to 433 issues per year as bond counsel with up to $7.8 billion annually in principal amounts. Over the last decade, the firm has served as bond counsel on more than 3,100 issues with a total principal amount of over $55 billion.

Private Equity & Venture Capital:

Ice Miller’s private equity group of more than 50 attorneys focuses on middle market transactions and understands the often unique dynamics of this space. The firm represents both management teams and the PE firms and individuals that invest in them. In the past five years, its attorneys have closed over 525 domestic and international transactions worth in excess of $20 billion and assisted in the formation of approximately 30 funds or fund of funds. Attorneys bring experience in the creation of optimal fund and acquisition/investment structures; the allocation of control and contractual rights between management and investors; and the development and implementation of exit strategies including debt and equity recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, sales and senior and junior debt financing transactions.

Litigation:

The firm works in many areas of litigation including antitrust and competition litigation, antitrust government investigations, appellate practice, business litigation, class actions, constitutional law, drug and device, electronic discovery (e-discovery), FDA practice, general trade regulation, insurance coverage and recovery, pre-merger notifications and investigations, products liability, risk and crisis management, securities litigation and regulation and white collar crime. Real Estate:

Real estate attorneys represent developers, landlords, financial institutions and others who regularly engage in real estate transactions, as well as clients who only occasionally need services to lease, construct, buy or sell facilities. They work to bring transactions to closing as quickly as possible, while counselling clients throughout the often complex processes and procedures. Experience includes regional clients, clients from across the United States and foreign clients with real estate activities in many states.
