Complex Commercial Litigation:
Ellis & Winters is recognized as a leader in complex commercial litigation. The firm has handled complex business cases, such as corporate control disputes, securities matters, antitrust cases, franchise disputes, and telecommunications matters. In addition, the firm has litigated a wide variety of cases that involve alleged breaches of contract, fraud, and unfair trade practices. Ellis & Winters offers comprehensive services in commercial and residential real estate development. The firm represents local, national, and regional institutions in transactions throughout the state and region. The real estate development practice includes economic development projects, entity formation, acquisition, leasing, and financing. Previous representations include buyers and sellers of real estate ranging from owners of farm tracts for raw land development to shopping center and office park developers. Experience representing both lenders and borrowers in sophisticated real estate financing projects has provided the firm with the ability to assist clients in understanding all sides of financial transactions. Members of the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights team at Ellis & Winters integrate their substantial depth of transactional and litigation experience in commercial real estate development and finance, corporate and securities, and mergers and acquisitions to guide real estate and business creditors, investors, and equity holders to the best outcomes in pre-bankruptcy, bankruptcy and adversary proceedings. The firm has comprehensive experience in this field, which includes representation in Bankruptcy Court, foreclosures, restructurings and workouts.
