Richard Egan qualified in 1990 and has been working in criminal law in London ever since. Richard has been instructed in some of the most serious criminal cases to come before the courts. Highlighted cases include representing Wayne Couzens in relation to the murder of Sarah Everard, acting for the “Speedboat killer” Jack Shepherd in his trial at the Old Bailey and successfully acted in the acquittal of Tania Clarence who was tried for the murder of her 3 disabled children. Richard was voted Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year when defending the man wrongly accused of training the 9/11 pilots against attempted extradition to the United States. He also acted for defendants accused of conspiracy to murder in the transatlantic airline ‘liquid bomb’ plot and the lead defendant accused of attempted murder in the London/Glasgow bomb plots.

Richard currently has a successful practice in defending high profile private clients and is on retainer for a leading London Premier League football club. He recently represented footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in an allegation of common assault and criminal damage securing a caution and also acted for Manchester City player Kyle Walker in a police investigation into indecent exposure securing an out of court settlement. Richard has acted successfully in defending a number of army courts martial proceedings and acts for a large number of ex British Army soldiers accused of murder in historical Northern Ireland Legacy investigations by the Police Service of Northern Ireland. He is regularly instructed in extremely serious and high profile cases requiring media management and has significant experience in dealing with the additional burdens that close media scrutiny may present. His work has been profiled in The Times, The Daily Mail and The Guardian newspapers.

Jim Meyer has over 29 years’ experience as a specialist criminal litigator and regulatory enforcement lawyer; he is widely regarded as one of the UK's best criminal lawyers and consistently ranks as a top criminal solicitor in the leading industry directories. Jim has acted in some of the UK’s most high-profile criminal cases, including notorious murders, terrorism, international conspiracies and sex cases, but his practice is now focused on business crime, particularly investigations involving the Environment Agency; the Health and Safety Executive; the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency; and the consumer protection and environmental health protection departments of local was contracted by the HSE to prosecute its cases in the London region and this, coupled with his criminal litigation experience, has given him an unrivalled expertise in the field of health and safety law enforcement and investigations following fatal accidents at work, particularly corporate manslaughter and gross negligence manslaughter.
