Tracing our roots back three decades to 1989 when Neil Abbott co-founded Abbott, King & Troen, the first multinational partnership (MNP) in England and Wales, Birkwells offers a bespoke approach to both private and corporate clients. Birkwells is the succesor firm of Corren Troen, an English law firm with specialist knowledge of the Nordics and other overseas jurisdictions and markets. Mads Birkeland

Mads is qualified as both a Danish Advokat and an English Solicitor and holds a Finance Degree as well as an MBA degree. In 2002 he moved from City law firm Osborne Clarke with Per Troen to start the legacy firm of Birkwells. He has extensive experience in cross-border, tax, banking and finance issues. He works closely with both private and public companies, financial institutions and executives, specifically in the UK and the Nordic countries. Mads assists many entrepreneurs and owner managers with their corporate, commercial and private client matters.

Neil Abbott

Neil heads up the Commercial Property team at Birkwells drawing on his comprehensive knowledge of real estate transactions including investments, acquisitions, development and planning. Neil’s expertise also covers funding and disposals in all sectors of the commercial real estate market for real estate funds, developers and others. Neil has over 40 years of experience in commercial real estate.

Peter Sinding

Peter is a Danish Advokat and English Solicitor. His background includes advising on M&A transactions in Denmark and the UK, stock exchange listings in the UK, commercial property funds (Guernsey & Germany) and structured finance transactions (UK).

Jonathan Jones

Jonathan is a widely experienced corporate and commercial lawyer who joined the firm after gaining experience in the city with Linklaters. He has acted on numerous IPOs including admission to the Official List and AIM. Jonathan represents public and private companies, entrepreneurs and institutions. Jonathan has a pharmaceutical background from before he joined the legal profession.
