The firm stands out for its leading expertise in dispute resolution and for its international arbitration practice. The senior partners of the firm in particular have been serving as umpires, arbitrators, counsellors and experts for more than thirty years in some of the most important disputes in Greece and abroad. The firm has a strong reputation for international arbitration, but also regularly undertakes civil and commercial litigation work. The litigation team of lawyers of the firm has discreetly handled some of the weightiest cases ever presented before the Greek and European Courts of Justice. In recent years the firm has acted in a large number of cases involving product liability, commercial agreements, torts and competition issues, some of which are considered as landmark cases. Litigation on private matters of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (like divorce, inheritance, control or distribution of assets) also absorbs much of the attention of the dispute resolution team partners.

Another major area of work is public procurement, public contracts and privatisation. The firm has represented and advised domestic and foreign bidders in international tenders for infrastructure projects and for capital share in public owned companies. It has also significant experience in contract management and administration in relation to infrastructure projects. In the last years the privatisation team headed by Stavros Georgiades has acted as advisor to a state-owned company on its acquisition by private investors for 652 million EUR. The same team has advised Hellenic Lotteries, the concessionaire awarded the exclusive right to operate and manage the State Lotteries for twelve years, in relation to the execution of the Concession Agreement. Furthermore, they are advising and representing TEMES (the owner of Costa Navarino resort) in its participation in the privatisation of the marina of Pylos initiated by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund.

The firm is also active in the fields of implementation of foreign investments in Greece focusing mainly on major real estate development projects. The practice includes choice of corporate vehicle, formation of companies, joint venture agreements, conception and implementation of commercial deals, licensing etc. The two partners in charge lecture property law at the University of Athens Law School and the firm is involved practically in almost every important real estate transaction in the country. This year the real estate team of the firm had again the chance to get involved in the sale of a private island to another wealthy individual; this was the fourth like transaction in the firm’s history. Besides the firm is advising the country’s largest developers and hoteliers on their ongoing real estate projects.
