Driving forward an inclusive working environment

Read about our Chambers INSPIRE network and the incredible work the committee do to further inclusivity within the workplace.

INSPIRE is our internal DEI and Responsible Business employee engagement network. Chambers actively encourages an open, inclusive and supportive work culture driven by the diversity of our people, our ideas and our innovation, enabling every employee to feel empowered.

The committee is composed of Chairs and Ambassadors from across the business, who work alongside Executive Sponsors from the Executive Leadership Team, driving engagement and positive action in line with the committee objectives. The committee is split into nine strands to focus on key areas of DEI and Responsible Business.

Activity

Each year the INSPIRE committee produces a number of activities designed to educate, empower and engage colleagues in conversations around DEI and Responsible Business. This takes a number of forms, but in an average year the committee will produce 12 large events, many more smaller and informal events, over 50 content pieces and work with the organisation on a number of specific initiatives and projects.

We’re proud to include some highlights of the committee’s work below.

Events marking a number of awareness days and occasions, including LGBT+ History Month, Black History Month, World Environment Day, International Women’s Day, Pride, Mental Health Awareness Week, World Aids Day and more.

A thriving Content Hub, utilising informative articles, colleague profiles and podcasts to inform and engage employees. This includes written pieces including: explainer pieces on religious festivals, a ‘Meet the Parents’ series spotlighting parents from across our organisation, an LGBT+ history podcast series, and ad-hoc pieces on topics from maternal mental health taboos to sleep hygiene and it’s relation to stress.

Initiatives including: achieving Disability Confident Level Three, a Parental Buddy Scheme, reviewing our Personal Disclosure and Transitioning at Work policies, contributing to our Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap reporting and internal communications and 3 lip-sync videos marking Pride celebrations.
