The Dispute Resolution team has increasingly been involved in dispute resolutions by arbitration and courts. We have a strong presence in maritime, finance, investment, and construction disputes by way of out-of-court settlement or before the Vietnamese courts. State agencies or the Vietnam International Arbitration Center and acts as Vietnamese law expert witness in international litigation and arbitration.
Below are some of our notable experiences under this practice:
- Advised Keangnam Enterprises Ltd. in a dispute on loan agreements and electricity fees with AON Vina Single Member Limited Liability Company
- Advised Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants Pte Ltd. in the pre-arbitration negotiations and arbitrations proceedings against Hoang Thang JSC before the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) for a contractual claim
- Advised Schneider Electric in a dispute between a director (formerly acting as the legal representative of the Company) and the Company relating to the implementation of his labour contract which was brought to the first instance court
- Advised ASK International Co., Ltd. in the termination of copyright license agreement due to breaches by a Vietnamese company
- Advised Lucky Communication Equipment Import Export Corporation in the termination of agreement with Nokia Sales International Oy
- Represented Quang Ninh People's Committee in arbitration proceedings at the VIAC for the resolution of disputes with How Yu Construction Vietnam Co.

- VILAF advised Marubeni on the enforcement of an ICC arbitral award in Vietnam, in relation to a dispute over an EPC contract that it had signed with An Hoa Paper towards the construction of a pulp-and-paper mill.
