Overview

TGS Baltic has a strong team of solution-oriented competition law lawyers, who are passionate about what they do. We see competition law as an enabler rather than a restraint and do our best to make competition law work in our clients’ favour.

We have represented clients at the Estonian Competition Authority, national courts and regulatory authorities as well as the EC and EU courts. Our team pays a lot of attention to ensuring compliance with competition rules and spreading knowledge about competition law – we conduct trainings on competition law and customer relations, prepare compliance guidelines and audits.

Our team is particularly well-known for its broad experience in state aid matters having represented clients in many state aid proceedings before the European Commission and conducting analyses of compliance with state aid rules. We are also very proud of having handled several private actions for damages already well before the implementation of the EU Damages Directive in Estonia.

The firm is a market leader in resolving competition law criminal cases having been involved in the largest retail cartel case in Estonia where our client received the most favourable outcome out of all the accused legal persons.

Our versatile client portfolio includes manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, and from various regulatory sectors, including electronic communications, energy, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics, food, consumer goods and others.
