A small, 14-member set whose barristers cover a variety of practice areas, Sixth Floor Windeyer Chambers stands out for its particularly heavy concentration of high-level native title-related expertise. Barristers based here offer experience in this field dating back, in some cases, to its inception and embracing the representation of traditional owner, proponent and government agency clients on a nationwide basis and in both state and Commonwealth superior courts. Clerk Heather Harbon is the suggested contact.

John Waters is one of Australia's most experienced native title practitioners, having worked in the area for nearly 30 years and appeared in nearly all jurisdictions across the fullest range of issues and on behalf of indigenous groups, proponent parties and government agencies. He is characterised by one source as "an absolutely eminent junior with a great demeanour in court."

Tina Jowett is a particularly well-established senior junior in the native title sphere, noted for the "massive amount of work" she does and more than capable of leading her own cases. Active on behalf of both traditional owner and proponent parties in a variety of courts and tribunals, she maintains a particularly prominent Federal Court appellate practice.

Vance Hughston SC is widely acknowledged to be a pre-eminent native title silk, one interviewee identifying him as "the leader of the native title Bar, with the longest record of experience in the area and by far the vastest coverage in terms of the work he has done and the cases he has handled." Particularly noted for his track record of appellate cases, conducted up to and including High Court level, he is best known for his work on behalf of traditional owner groups but has also acted for proponent parties and government agencies.
