About

Provided by Morales & Besa

The team’s practice is built on a two-prong structure: transactional work carried out jointly with the Firm’s projects, banking and finance, and M&A departments, on the one hand, and regulatory and commercial advice in the development of energy projects, on the other.

Our transactional work is industry-leading and highly regarded in the market, with interdisciplinary teams decidedly capable of conducting fast-track and detailed due diligence reviews of all aspects of an energy project, including complex PPA structures and regulatory requirements, to meet international and cross-border transaction standards. The flexible configuration of the team allows us to be rapidly reactive to the client’s needs whenever the transaction’s timeline demands it. Our approach to due diligence associates the different aspects of a project (corporate, land, environmental, etc.) with the industry specific issues, thus allowing us to provide a more accurate and thorough risk assessment of the relevant asset. Our team has in house experience in the industry, which provides a deep understanding of the relevant business drivers.

Our team members have also advised energy developers in all stages of the development of transmission and generation projects, including liaising with the sectorial authorities for the obtainment of applicable permits.
