Kennedys’ aviation insurance team delivers legal solutions to the entire aviation sector. Our clients include commercial airlines and their insurers, corporate jet owners and operators, airports and aerodromes, and aerospace and defence companies.

Lead by Simon Balls, Mark Welbourn, Alexandra Rodina and Noelia Mann, our UK-based team is instructed on some of the industry’s most high profile and complex claims, many of which have a multi-jurisdictional element. We advise across the full spectrum of aviation insurance matters including: major losses, coverage disputes, baggage and cargo claims, denied boarding and cancellation of flights, product liability, catastrophic injuries, hull recoveries and subrogation.

The team are supported by aviation specialists from around the world, including in Dubai, Singapore and Australia.

Recent work includes:

  • Advising Tatarstan Airlines, and the lead Reinsurer, in relation to all liability claims arising from the fatal crash of Tatarstan Airlines Flight 363.
  • On behalf of Etihad we handle all claims worldwide, apart from the US, that fall under the Hull All Risk Insurance (“Etihad Policy”).
  • Vueling’s sole go-to UK law firm for handling all civil proceedings covered by Hull All Risk Insurance (“Vueling Policy”), handling claims relating to personal injury and delayed/ damaged baggage.
