About

Provided by Irwin Mitchell

The team specialises in the most complex, varied and high-profile cases. We provide assistance to families at inquests and we are the largest team of claimant medical negligence lawyers in the region. We have 37 case handlers practicing medical negligence. At any one time the department is handling more than 1,000 cases. The department is led by 7 partners, all with a national reputation.

We pride ourselves on achieving excellent results for clients. Our aim is to secure early admissions and interim payments to enable clients to access rehabilitation, treatment and equipment. Every year we help families purchase adapted properties at early stages so we can organise therapy and rehabilitation regimes together with care packages. In other cases, we have secured early interim payments so injured clients can attend rehabilitation units to learn to cope with injuries.

Clients are offered assistance from an in-house Support and Rehabilitation Co-Ordinator, a service to assist with accessing benefits and rehabilitation whilst the litigation is ongoing. We offer a holistic service working with other specialist teams including Public Law, Court of Protection and investment services which achieves an integrated and coordinated approach in managing a client’s interim payment and advising them on the range of issues that arises at this stage of their claim.

Our Birmingham team received 46 top level 5* Trust Pilot client reviews over the past 12 months.
