• Traditionally represents U.S. and foreign banks, shipowners and investors active in international and U.S. shipping transactions.
• Increasingly represents non-traditional sources of ship financing, including governmental finance support entities and underwriters in capital markets and private equity transactions.
• Has extensive experience with tax support regarding U.S., Marshall Islands​ and Liberia related tax issues.
• Includes shipping group restructurings, workouts and Chapter 11 insolvencies for lenders.
• In 2021, Holland & Knight became a Founding Member of the Blue Sky Maritime Coalition, a nonprofit strategic alliance across the value-chain to address global climate change and accelerate the transition of waterborne transportation across the United States and Canada toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. Holland & Knight was the organizing law firm of the Coalition and Partner Jovi Tenev (NYC) serves on the Coalition's board of directors as secretary and is a member of its executive management team.
