The department's focus is on brands, digital content and data, practising all forms of IP other than patents, but with a particular emphasis on trade marks.
Clients are typically entrepreneur-led businesses, ranging from start-ups to major corporations. Clients include Globefill Inc. (makers of the Crystal Head vodka in its distinctive skull shaped bottle), Subway, Scribbler, Blue Group (owners of Slumberland, Dunlopillo, Bensons for Beds and many other home brands), Pizza Pilgrims, Reach plc (the UK and Ireland’s largest commercial news publisher with brands such as the Mirror, Express, Daily Star, and OK! magazine, among many others), and the Science Museum Group (well-known museums including the Science Museum itself) and National Gallery.
The firm deals with dozens of intellectual property disputes every year. This includes pre-action, High Court, the Court of Appeal, UKIPO tribunal, UDRP, Nominet and takedown matters for both sides of the fence in a dispute. The great majority of these are resolved without expensive litigation. The team also has a good deal of experience of litigation through to trial including to the Supreme Court, and has this year been involved with a number of cases at the High Court, with two cases also heard at the Court of Appeal.

The team are hugely responsive and are consistently able to put themselves in the client's shoes, which results in strong practical and commercial advice.
The team was clearly invested in our business - taking time to understand our model, our mission and the impact the case could have on our reputation.
Although they are a boutique firm, the strength and cohesion of their team more than matches larger practices. We felt consistently well-supported by a knowledgeable and engaged group.
