The Team continues to undertake complex work for a range of high profile corporate clients, notably companies such as Admiral Insurance, Target Group, A F Blakemore (Spar), the Novomatic Group and the Sofa Brands International Group (Including household name brands such as G Plan and Parker Knoll). The Team advises on a wide range of high-level issues, including tribunal advocacy and the handling of the employment aspects of large-scale projects.
The Team also continues to enjoy a reputation for its public sector work. We act for the Welsh Government, individual Welsh Assembly Members, the majority of Welsh and several English local authorities, several housing associations and various non-governmental public bodies such as the Arts Council of Wales, National Museum of Wales, National Library of Wales and Estyn (HM’s Chief Inspector of Education in Wales). We also act for a range of charities, including the Wales Millennium Centre. We continue to advise on complex and sensitive employment issues within the public and third sectors.
The Team handles a range of information management projects for clients, principally via Lowri Phillips, involving data processing issues and, for public sector clients, freedom of information requests. In particular, we were very active in training and briefing clients, private and public, in readiness for the General Data Protection Regulation.
