Non-profit and charitable organizations work hard every day to serve the public, support their members, and make valuable contributions to Canadian society. The Non-Profit and Charities Group at Gardiner Roberts understands the sector’s unique strengths and challenges and efficiently advises our clients on all their legal needs, including regulatory regime changes, tax compliance, governance reviews/restructuring, and commercial transactions.
The Non-Profit and Charities Group represents a wide range of local, regional, and national organizations, including universities, colleges and schools; hospitals and health research and support organizations; social services agencies; environmental groups; religious organizations; trade and professional associations; cultural and sports organizations; governmental and quasi-governmental agencies; and public and private philanthropic foundations.
Our team is committed to the sector, both in the office and out of it, sitting on boards of charitable organizations, volunteering with industry associations, advocating on behalf of the sector, and teaching charity and not-for-profit law at a law school in southern Ontario.
