Overview

Founded in 1978, in Rio de Janeiro, specialising in Intellectual Property and related matters, including trademarks, patents, industrial design, copyright and neighbouring rights, information technology law, counterfeiting and unfair competition, licensing, transfer of technology and IP litigation.

Representation of multinational corporations particularly companies based in the U.S.A, Europe and Asia and their Brazilian subsidiaries in various industrial sectors, such as automotive, chemical, biotech, aviation, engineering, pharmaceutical, sports, entertainment, telecommunications, software, fashion, among others.

Among the very few Intellectual Property Law firms with branch offices in Brazil. The main office is in Rio de Janeiro (close to BPTO); branch offices are in Curitiba and São Paulo.

German desk set up at the end of 2010. Assistance is provided in client's native language and the professionals are familiar with the foreign jurisdiction.

Anti-Counterfeiting Department engaged in conducting investigations on the manufacture and distribution of counterfeit products; carrying search and seizure operations (raids); sending cease and sesist Letters; preparing and filing civil and criminal lawsuits; adopting administrative measures before the Customs Authorities of Brazilian ports and airports; and developing and implementing training programs before the Customs Authorities.

Internal patent translation department with 22 professionals specialised in various technology fields.
