Which law firms have the most rankings in Chambers High Net Worth 2023?

Our High Net Worth research team recorded 8,800 unique interactions with referees and law firms under consideration for inclusion this year.

That’s more than 2,500 telephone interviews and more than 6,000 completed surveys, just for this year’s High Net Worth guide. It’s this unparalleled research that makes Chambers High Net Worth the most comprehensive guide to the private wealth industry in the world, and I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to our researchers this year. 

The law firm with the most rankings in this year’s guide is Withers, living up to its Withersworldwide branding with 24 department rankings and 68 lawyer rankings spread across the UK, Europe, US and Asia-Pacific regions.  

Charles Russell Speechlys is a strong runner-up with 14 department rankings and 48 lawyer rankings, and Baker McKenzie comes in third, level with CRS on 14 department rankings and with 29 lawyer listings this year. Congratulations to all three, and to the more than 1,200 firms which gained at least one ranking in Chambers High Net Worth 2023. 

Withers also leads the way in terms of the number of Band 1-ranked lawyers this year, with 13 lawyers in Band 1 and two further individuals in our exclusive Star Practitioner category: Diana Parker and Julian Lipson, both in the firm’s London family/matrimonial team. The law firm welcomed Band 1-ranked private aircraft specialist Paul Jebely in its Hong Kong office this year.  

McDermott Will & Emery, the leading US law firm for private wealth, performed incredibly well in this year’s research as well, winning 11 Band 1 lawyer rankings and a Star Practitioner listing for its New York partner, Carlyn McCaffrey.  

Charles Russell Speechlys and fellow UK firm Mills & Reeve were tied on 12 Band 1 ranked lawyers apiece. Rounding out the top five is Farrer & Co, with 11 Band 1 rankings among its partnership and 35 lawyer rankings overall.
