Kreich Avocats is a Chadian business law firm founded in 2015 by Abdelkérim Mahamat Kreich. The founder benefits from significant experience as an associate and a trainee in the Banking/Projects Departments of international law firms (Clifford Chance, Jones Day, DLA Piper, Gide, LPA, and Shearman & Sterling) based in Paris.
Kreich Avocats offers top-notch legal services in advisory and litigation practices in Chad and CEMAC sub-region. It represents local companies, State institutions and several subsidiaries and branches of multinationals from various sectors (including banking and finance, energy, telecommunications, media, pharmacy, aviation). Furthermore, it assists Chadian and international banking and financial institutions (including DFIs) in their capacity as agents, arrangers, and lenders in the financing of infrastructure and energy projects.
Kreich Avocats advises banks, financial institutions, investment funds, insurance companies and large corporate clients in their day-to-day transactions, as well as, with respect to judicial and disciplinary procedures. We have been involved in several landmark financing deals as the Chadian counsel of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) in connection with a $10 million loan to support the introduction of off-grid solar kits and appliances in Chad. We have also acted as the Chadian counsel of a pool of twenty-one (21) international lenders in relation to a limited recourse loan agreement entered into between the lenders and Glencore and in connection with an English law prepayment agreement entered into between Glencore, Société des Hydrocarbures du Tchad (SHT) and the Republic of Chad.
Our main areas of expertise include international investment law, corporate law, energy & natural resources, infrastructure, telecommunications, medias, agribusiness, project finance, acquisition finance, secured lending, syndicated loan, trade and commodity finance, islamic finance and securitisations. Our firm received in 2020 the Capital Markets Deal of Year Award of IFLR 1000 for acting as the Chadian counsel in the Airtel Africa Initial Public Offering.
