The firm acts in respect of all criminal matters from investigation to prosecution from Police Station through all criminal Courts. They operate an own client legal aid contract and provide Duty Solicitor services, and hold a VHCC Contract and prison law contract. The firm provides specialist fraud, regulatory, bibery and corruption defence services and in addition act in Military Court Martial matters.
The firm operates the largest criminal practice in North Yorkshire and has an extensive local client base, as well as receiving instructions from out of area criminal practices both as agent and in conflict matters. They receive referrals from local and national non crime practices as well as prison law referrals nationally. Cross border fraud/bribery/corruption matters including investigations/pre charge advice/including trials. Extradition work is also undertaken. The firm’s international criminal defence work and military defence work to date has been conducted in a number of foreign jurisdictions for example Europe, USA, Russia and the Middle East.
