Chambers UK ranks lawyers and law firms providing advice to borrowers, sponsors and lenders. A broad array of banking work is considered for these rankings, with areas looked at including acquisition finance, syndicated lending, leveraged finance, fund finance, Islamic finance and refinancings among other legal issues. These rankings do not take into account Banking Litigation, Asset Finance, Real Estate Finance, Restructuring & Insolvency, Capital Markets, or Financial Services work as these are covered by other sections.
As the largest and most active market we cover, our London Banking & Finance rankings are designed to reflect the depth and variety of work being handled by firms at all levels. Firms are therefore ranked in one of seven sub-tables depending on a number of factors, including transactional values and areas of expertise. Individual lawyers are ranked in one of two sub-tables depending on the average transactional value of the deals they advise on, in addition to spotlight tables highlighting Fund Finance and Islamic Finance expertise.
For Banking & Finance: Lenders: Mid-Market, we expect to see firms regularly acting for traditional banks, alternative lenders and challenger banks on prominent deals with a value between £100 - £499 million.
