Winnie Tham

Winnie has more than 30 years of experience in the intellectual property field and one of the founders of Amica Law LLC, an intellectual property and technology firm in Singapore. She has a multi-disciplinary background, encompassing both legal and technical expertise. In addition to significant expertise in intellectual property protection and management, she regularly advises on patent and regulatory matters.

Winnie is both a lawyer and registered patent agent in Singapore. She enjoys the day to day intellectual property practice and working with clients to protect their intellectual property rights ranging from trade marks, patents and designs in Singapore and internationally. Her portfolio of clients include international and local companies seeking to protect their IP in Singapore and abroad. Her practice also encompasses intellectual property advice on contentious matters, oppositions and invalidations.

She is also deeply involved in the intellectual property profession. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. Additionally, she was a Past President of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (Singapore Group). She is a member of the AIPPI (Singapore Group) and is in the Singapore Executive Committee. She has often participated in the AIPPI Study Questions as a representative of the Singapore Group. On the trade marks front, she is an active member of the International Trade Mark Association (INTA) and has chaired various advocacy committees including Chair of the Famous and Well Known Trade Marks committee and Harmonization of Trade Mark Law and Practice. She is currently a Sub-Committee Chair of Geographical Indications.
