Wes Burrows is the Chair of Fillmore Riley’s Business Law Practice Group.
Wes regularly advises on some of the most significant mergers and acquisitions in the region, on both buy-side and sell-side engagements. His clients include family offices, private equity groups, business owners and Indigenous development corporations.
He also advises on public and private offerings of equity and debt securities and securities law compliance matters particular to Manitoba’s distinct capital markets regulatory landscape. Law firms outside of Manitoba routinely engage Wes as an agent and advisor on local securities law.
Wes acted and continues to act as lead counsel on some of the most notable Indigenous-led economic developments in the province, including the development of the governance and corporate structuring model for the Treaty One Nations in connection with Naawi-Oodena, the largest urban reserve in Canada. In addition, he played an integral role in the establishment of Wiitahnookiinitaw Tahshkayzing Entrepreneurship Centre (WTEC), Canada's first fully Indigenous-led incubator.
Wes joined Fillmore Riley in 2005 and has held numerous leadership positions. He currently sits on the Marketing Committee and Articling Committee.

Active in the community, Wes is a volunteer coach of soccer and basketball teams and sits on the board of directors of St. Paul’s High School.
