Prior to law school, Tom served in the United States Army from 1990 to 1994. He was commissioned as a Regular Army Second Lieutenant in Field Artillery, and obtained the rank of First Lieutenant. Tom is a graduate of the Field Artillery Basic Course, the United States Army Airborne School and Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Warfare School (honor graduate).
A “double dawg,” Tom was the rush chairman and President of his fraternity as an undergraduate. In law school, Tom participated in Moot Court in his second and third year and was President of his class.
Since he began practicing law, Tom has served as the President of the Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and on the State of Georgia Bar’s business court and judicial selection standing committees. Tom served as the Vice-Chairman of the Georgia World War One Centennial Commission, and the Vice-Chairman of the Peachtree City Airport Authority and as a board member of the Federal Defender Program for the Northern District of Georgia.
