Career

Viviana Miranda Ortiz is a member in the Corporate Department. She joined O’Neill & Borges in 2008. Viviana’s main areas of practice are real estate and commercial lending matters, with an emphasis in notarial and mortgage law. Viviana has represented local and international financial institutions in multiple large-scale financing transactions such as real-estate based loans, participated loans, asset-based loans, and the sale of construction and commercial loan portfolios.

Viviana has also represented clients in conducting due diligence for the acquisition of loan portfolios from financial institutions as well as in the drafting, negotiation, and execution of documents related to said portfolios and the financing agreements executed in connection therewith. Also, Viviana has represented major solar energy companies in conducting the due diligence necessary for developing projects in Puerto Rico as well as international financial institutions in the financing of said projects.

Using her vast experience in real estate transactions and condominium association law, Viviana also manages the firm’s insurance recovery claims arising out of Hurricane Maria. Viviana represents a number of condominium associations in complex insurance claims against some of the largest insurance companies in the world, as well as domestic insurers.

Representative engagements include Banco Santander Puerto Rico for a multi-million dollar transaction involving the sale of a construction and commercial loan portfolio.
