Career

Vivian has been involved in a variety of high-profile and notable matters which include matters concerning wet and dry shipping work, international sale of goods, charterparty disputes, ship repair and construction disputes, sale and purchase of vessels, mortgage enforcement of ship and aircraft, insurance, carriage of goods and passengers, freight forwarding disputes, repair and maintenance of aircraft, and the arrest, detention and re-possession of ship and aircraft.

Vivian is only actively involved in a number of charterparty disputes, where she acted as counsel in some and sat as an arbitrator in a number of others in relation to SCMA, SIAC and adhoc arbitration.

In 2019, Vivian was recognised as a Senior Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law by the Singapore Academy of Law.

Professional Memberships

Vivian is on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Maritime Law.

She is a member of the Maritime Law Association of Singapore, Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitrators, Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association and Singapore Institute of Legal Education Accreditation Committee (Accreditation Panel).

Vivian is also an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.
