Victor Augusto Benes Senhora

Practice: Victor is an insurance specialist who has relevant experience in both consultation and litigation matters. His experience acting on cases before the Superior Courts in Brazil makes him stand out amongst his peers. He has represented numerous insurers in connection with coverage litigation and has also acted on groundbreaking arbitration cases in the sector.

Career: He has been a partner at J Armando Batista e Benes Advogados for over 22 years.

Education: Victor holds an LLM degree in Law, Justice, and Development (2020) from Instituto Brasileiro de Ensino, Desenvolvimento e Pesquisa (IDP). He holds a specialisation degree in Insurance Law (2018) from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in Portugal. He also holds a post-graduate degree in Civil Procedural Law (2006) from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a specialisation degree in Insurance and Reinsurance Law (2003) from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-Law). Victor holds an LLB degree (2001) from Universidade Paulista (UNIP).

Academic credentials, speaking engagements, etc: Victor is the Academic Director of the Brazilian Chapter of the International Insurance Law Association (AIDA) and serves as the President of the Fiscal Council of OABPrevSP. He is a former President of the Insurance Law Committee of OAB-SP, Pinheiros Subsection, and a former member of the Deliberative Council of OABPrevSP. Additionally, Victor is the author and co-author of several books related to his area of expertise. Professor at the School of Business and Insurance.
