Vidar Ludviksson’s (born 1972, LL.M. Stanford Law School) main practice is litigation, corporate and commercial law, contract law, negotiations, administrative law, bankruptcy law, tort and insurance law. Vidar has worked on many of the largest M&A deals in Iceland over the past years, such as Vodafone Iceland's purchase of all assets of the broadcasting company 365 midlar (EUR 69 million), FAST-1's sale of real-estate subsidiaries to Reginn (EUR 185 million), Hagar's (listed company) purchase of all shares in the oil company Oliuverzlun Islands hf. (around EUR 133 million), legal advisor to Vodafone Iceland on the sale and leaseback of the company‘s passive mobile infrastructure to international investors (expected profit over 6 billion ISK), SMI's purchase and sale of the Korputorg Shopping Center and more. Vidar successfully defended U.K. insurers in relation to claims made against them under a D&O Policy purchased by Landsbanki Islands hf., in the longest hearings in Icelandic legal history.
Career
Vidar is a member of the board of the Icelandic Bar Association. Vidar is Vice-Chairman of the Appeals Committee on Electricity, Chairman on the Surveillance Committee on Competition Matters of the Icelandic Post, Alternate Chairman of the Elections Appeals Committee and more.
