Vanessa Bruton KC has a general commercial litigation background. She now specialises in the resolution of trust, estate and relationship (matrimonial) property disputes.
She went to the independent bar in 2014 and took silk in 2016. She has been lead counsel in many of the leading New Zealand trust and estate cases over recent years, both at first instance and on appeal.
She is available to provide opinions and act as an expert witness on matters of New Zealand trust and estate law.
Vanessa promotes cutting a deal wherever possible, and is a qualified mediator, frequently facilitating the resolution of trust, estate and related disputes. She is of European and Cook Islands descent, and admitted to the Bar in New Zealand and (when cases require it), the Cook Islands.
