Trina Fraser, head of BSL’s CannaLaw® group, is a leading practitioner in cannabis law in Canada.

In 2019, she was named by Canadian Lawyer Magazine as one of the Top 25 Most Influential lawyers in Canada, and Trina was named “Attorney of the Year” at the 2019 O’Cannabiz Industry Awards Gala.

Trina represents licensed cannabis cultivators, processors, medical sellers, nurseries, analytical testers, researchers and retailers, as well as ancillary cannabis industry service providers. Her regulatory advice covers the gamut of licensing, security clearance and compliance issues affecting cannabis companies. Trina also advises her clients on commercial matters including change of control transactions and intra-industry (B2B) agreements such as supply arrangements, intellectual property licensing deals and services agreements.

Trina is a registered trademark agent and provides counsel to her clients in protecting their intellectual property.

She studied at Queen’s University, where she earned Bachelor of Commerce and Juris Doctor degrees.

She serves on the board of directors of patient advocacy organization Medical Cannabis Canada (MCC). Trina curates a popular Twitter feed (@trinafraser) devoted to the cannabis industry.
