Career

Tony is dual-qualified in England and Vientam with over two decade-experience of practice in financing projects and energy industry. Tony founded EPLegal in 2009 as a boutique law firm focusing on energy, project financing and cross-border disputes. He is a Legal500 ranked lawyer, a Benchmark-Litigation’s dispute resolution star, WWL Arbitration's Future Leader and a go-to-counsel for international arbitration involving Vietnamese parties.

Tony frequently represents large corporate clients for disputes settled by arbitration and mediation. He is the first Vietnamese FCIArb, immediate past chairman of CIArb Vietnam, and a VIAC arbitrator and a member of the VIAC’s Expert Advisory Council. In January 2020, he was appointed as Deputy Director of Vietnam Mediation Center. He is also the Managing Director and co-founder of Vietnam Institute for International Arbitration (VIArb), the first independent organisation of arbitration and ADR training institute in Vietnam.
