4-day federal jury trial resulted in a $917,000 verdict. Our client was misled into purchasing what turned out to be a shell of an accounting firm, where the seller failed to disclose key clients had already left, withheld vital contact information, and tried to shift the blame for the collapse.
10-day federal preliminary injunction hearing in NY federal court successfully defended against an injunction. Our client had been accused of misappropriating trade secrets in an advertising technology. A much larger company attempted to shutter our client’s business by stopping them from competing during the litigation. We prevailed, and the court did not enter an injunction.
2-day arbitration win on a construction case. The contractor tried to change the contract from a fixed-cost contract to a cost-plus contract to account for severe cost overruns and a significant underestimation. The mediator sided with our client, and the house was built for the agreed-upon amount.
Appellate victory setting aside an attorneys’ fees award. We were brought on after the judgment to challenge defects in the underlying case, and were successful in setting aside a large award for attorney’s fees.
Defended a construction judgment through appeal, then collected it in a voidable transaction case. In a case where a contractor did shoddy work then abandoned the project, we were brought on after the judgment to defend it on appeal. We prevailed in the Court of Appeals, then filed a voidable transaction case when the contractor tried to shield his assets by transferring them to a family member. We were able to recover the entire judgment for the homeowner.
