Toby Landau KC was called in 1993, and is also a member of the Bar of Singapore (the first QC/KC to be permanently called), New York, the BVI, and Northern Ireland, and registered in the DIFC. He practises in London and in Singapore from Duxton Hill Chambers (previously a member of Essex Court Chambers for 27 years). As Counsel, he specialises in international commercial, investor-State and inter-state arbitration. He is a member of the Panel of Advisors to the Attorney-General of Singapore. As Arbitrator, he has extensive experience in commercial and investor-State disputes in multiple jurisdictions and is a member of the ICSID Panel. He is Vice President of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC); Member of the Governing Board of ICCA; Fellow of the CIArb and Chartered Arbitrator; Vice-Chairman of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration; and a Middle Temple Bencher. He has previously been UK delegate to the UNCITRAL Working Group on Arbitration (1994- 2013); a Director and Court Member of the LCIA; and Visiting Professor at Kings College London. He was one of the drafters of the English Arbitration Act 1996. He holds a first-class law degree and a first class BCL from Oxford University (Eldon Scholar), and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (Kennedy Scholar).
