This section covers state-to-state disputes such as those governed by the law of nations and the law of the sea, as well as by international agreements and conventions.
It includes matters traditionally held to constitute the core of public international law practices, such as land and maritime boundary disputes, sovereign immunity, state succession and claims to statehood, as well as advice to states, companies and individuals concerning sanctions and bilateral investment treaty arbitrations. Matters involving state disputes concerning human rights should be submitted to International Human Rights Law.
