Tiburce Monnou

Practice Areas

During his career, Tiburce has developed expertise in investment law, project financing, security law, public procurement law, labor law, legal auditing and negotiation. He has particular knowledge of recovery procedures and enforcement routes.

He is involved in both advisory and litigation matters.

He collaborates with the Faculty of Law of the University of Lomé for the publication of the Revue Togolaise des Sciences Juridiques.

He has been listed since 2010 by Global Chambers, which described him in its 2020 guide as a “very active and dynamic” lawyer.

He is listed as the best business lawyer in Togo by the Chambers 2023 ranking.

Professional Memberships

Former member of the OHADA National Commission of Togo (2009 to 2014), he participated in the drafting of Togo's observations on the reform of the Uniform Act on General Commercial Law and the Uniform Act on Security Law as well as at the meeting of the committee of experts which validated the latest version of the revised Uniform Acts in Lomé. In 2012, he represented Togo at the impregnation meeting in Praia (Cape Verde) on the reform of the Uniform Act relating to the Law of Commercial Companies and Economic Interest Groups. Finally, he was the rapporteur of the national meeting of Togo which formulated Togo's observations on the draft revised Uniform Act relating to the Law of Commercial Companies and Economic Interest Groups. He also participated in OHADA’s harmonization work on labor law.

Tiburce is also a former me,ber of the council of the national bar of Togo.
