THOMAS P. PARRINO is a partner and co-founder of PARRINO|SHATTUCK, PC. His practice encompasses all areas of family law, including divorce, alimony, child custody, child support, and property division. Parrino has practiced family law for more than 25 years and is regarded as a leading attorney in the field, entrusted with some of the most intricate, high-asset matrimonial litigation in Connecticut. He is a tenacious negotiator and litigator. Best Lawyers has recognized him as Lawyer of the Year, and he has been selected for inclusion in the “Best Lawyers in America” list, as well as the Top 50 Connecticut Attorneys, Super Lawyers, from 2013 through 2015, 2018 through 2020, and 2023 through 2026.

Parrino is a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, a select group limited to 100 of the top family trial lawyers in the United States. Its Diplomates, all of them members of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, are chosen for their recognized litigation skill and courtroom ability. Membership is by Diplomate invitation only.

Parrino is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Parrino co-authored a chapter in Family Law Jurisdictional Comparisons, Second Edition 2013, a book published by European Lawyer/Thomson Reuters. The volume grew out of the increasing significance of international family law and was intended as a definitive guide to family law across core jurisdictions around the world, comprising six U.S. states and 37 countries. His chapter addressed subjects that exemplify Connecticut family law, among them finances and capital, property, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, child maintenance, surrogacy and adoption, civil partnership and same-sex marriage, and financial relief following foreign divorce proceedings.

Parrino has also lectured extensively on family law matters throughout his career. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and his juris doctor from the University of Bridgeport, subsequently succeeded by Quinnipiac University School of Law.
