Theresa Wang

Theresa Wang is a nationally recognized intellectual property attorney with over 15 years of experience in IP and general litigation. Known for her deep knowledge of software and technology, she helps clients navigate complex copyright and trademark matters with clarity, efficiency, and long-term strategic value.

Theresa’s practice focuses on copyright and trademark disputes, licensing, and the procurement of domestic and international trademarks. She frequently appears before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and in federal and state courts across the country. With extensive experience in the software industry, she advises software asset management teams on license enforcement, compliance, and the protection of high-value copyrights, supporting clients on the advisory side, but also with dispute resolution, from initial engagement through litigation.

- Represents international software companies in license and copyright enforcement actions in over a dozen federal and state courts, as lead or co-counsel.

- Represents businesses in contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

- Advise businesses regarding enforcement of intellectual property rights, trademark prosecution, international trademark portfolio strategy and management, copyright protections, and other related issues.

- Advises clients in various industries regarding disputes involving intellectual property and licensing that arise with customers and competitors, and assists in weighing options for resolution, short of litigation.

IP Litigation

- Represents a preeminent owner of brands for agricultural products alleging trademark infringement, trademark dilution, and false designation of origin claims before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.

- Represented an online retailer defending against claims of trademark infringement, counterfeiting and false designation of origin before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Claims resolved through settlement.

- Represented a software company alleging breach of contract, Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and copyright infringement claims before the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. Claims resolved through settlement.

- Represented software company alleging breach of contract and copyright infringement claims before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Claims resolved through settlement.

- Represented software company alleging breach of contract claims before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Claims resolved through settlement.

- Represented software company alleging copyright infringement and breach of contract claims before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Claims resolved through settlement.

- Represented online clothing retailer defending against claims of trademark infringement and unfair competition before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Obtained judgment in favor of client on all claims following a bench trial.

- Represented software company alleging copyright infringement and breach of contract claims before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Claims resolved through settlement.
