Career

Legislative and International Experience:

Parliamentary Leadership From 2019-2021, Dr. Simonyan served as an elected Member of Parliament representing the Lori region in Armenia's National Assembly. During his tenure, he was an active member of the Commission of Legal and State Affairs and served as Co-Chairman of the Committee on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence with EU Policies (ECON) at the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, where he played a pivotal role in Armenia-EU legal harmonization efforts.

International Appointments։

His international recognition includes his appointment as National Correspondent of the Republic of Armenia to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) from 2017-2019, where he contributed to the development of international commercial law standards.

International Arbitration։

As an Arbitrator, he brings extensive expertise to cross-border dispute resolution. He actively handles investment and commercial arbitration cases before the International Chamber of Commerce, European Arbitration Chamber, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, and Armenian arbitration institutions.

Academic Contributions։

Dr. Simonyan serves as Associate Professor (Docent) at Yerevan State University's Faculty of Law and Center on European Studies. He's also lectured at the French University in Armenia and the International Accountancy Training Center. His scholarly work includes numerous scientific articles on international and comparative law, theory of state and law, and several monographs, as well as textbooks for shcools and universities.

Core Practice Areas: Taron Simonyan provides comprehensive legal consultancy to major corporations across diverse sectors including: investments, IT, media, and mining. He's regularly served as a national expert for prestigious international organizations including the Council of Europe, OSCE, EU, Asian Development Bank, etc. His current practice focuses intensively on Investment law, Public and Private International law, and Contract law, as well as Negotiation and Mitigation, EU Law, Human Rights, Arbitration, Litigation, Constitutional Law, Civil Law and Procedure, Corporate Law, Mining Legislation, Legal Due Diligence.
