Dr Sven Lange is frequently involved in post-M&A proceedings, joint venture disputes as well as other corporate matters, including in relation to start-up companies. In addition, he also regularly acts in disputes relating to construction and infrastructure projects, as well as in other commercial disputes.
Sven Lange has experience with numerous arbitration rules, including, for example, the ICC, DIS, SCC, ICSID, Swiss and UNCITRAL Rules as well as the Rules of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He acts as arbitrator and party representative. As arbitrator, he is being regularly appointed by parties in post-M&A and other corporate disputes, including in several arbitrations with a multi-million Euro amount in dispute. In addition, he has also acted as arbitrator in other commercial disputes, including in construction disputes. When acting as party representative, he advises clients from, in particular, the automotive, infrastructure and defence sectors.
A further focus of Sven Lange's work is on international investment arbitration. For example, Sven has represented clients from the shipbuilding sector in multiple parallel proceedings against a State based inter alia on violations of a bilateral investment treaty. In addition, Sven also has experience acting for a State in investment arbitration.
Professional Memberships
Since 2024, Sven Lange has been a member of the Board of the SCC Arbitration Institute, one of the world's leading arbitration organisations. He is currently also a member of a committee working on the revision of the SCC Arbitration Rules. In addition, Sven Lange is a member of various arbitration associations (e.g. the DIS and the Luxembourg Arbitration Association) and co-chair of the DIS country group for Luxembourg (DIS/LAA/LAC Arbitration Group). He was also a Regional Coordinator for the DIS40 in Frankfurt from 2018 to 2020.
