Career
Sven-Erik is a partner in Bird & Bird's Frankfurt office, specialising in communications, IT and data protection law. He has been a member of our International Executive Committee since 2015.
Sven-Erik has many years of in-depth legal and regulatory experience in the areas of communications, IT, e-commerce, internet and data protection. He and his team advise network operators, service providers, investors and corporate clients in the information and communication technology (ICT) and related energy markets, with a particular focus on resources (such as infrastructure assets, rights of way and frequencies), industry convergence and digitalisation (such as cloud computing, M2M, smart grid/metering, Internet of Things, connected cars and telematics), outsourcing and platform projects, as well as regulatory and data protection compliance, often combined with multi-jurisdictional project management.
His practice areas in ICT-related markets include
Legal, regulatory and strategic advice on projects and transactions
Structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
Representation before national and European regulatory and antitrust authorities
Administrative, antitrust and civil litigation and arbitration.
Most of the projects, cases and matters entrusted to Sven-Erik and his team are based on long-standing client relationships and in-depth knowledge of our clients' businesses and strategies.

In addition to being the editor and author of the "Handbuch Telekommunikationsrecht", Sven-Erik has published numerous articles on legal issues in telecommunications, IT, data protection and e-commerce law in leading legal journals such as "Computer und Recht" and in treatises such as the "Handbuch Fachanwalt IT-Recht" and, most recently, in the new editions of the "Auernhammer" data protection commentary.
