Practice Areas

Board certified in appellate practice, Steve has handled hundreds of appellate matters in all six Florida District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, six federal circuit courts of appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. Before founding Brannock Berman & Seider, Steve spent 28 years with Holland & Knight LLP, where he supervised its appellate practice in central Florida and served on the firm’s Directors Committee.

Steve is a leader in Florida’s appellate community, having served as Chair of the Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section and as Chair of the Florida Appellate Court Rules Committee. He also served two terms on the Civil Jury Instructions Committee. In 2012, Steve received the Adkins Award, the Appellate Section’s highest honor. He is a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, the country’s most exclusive group of appellate attorneys.

Steve is a frequent lecturer and writer and has served as an adjunct professor of appellate practice at Stetson University’s College of Law. He teaches the annual course on Florida civil appellate practice for those preparing to take the appellate board certification exam.
